Saturday, November 1, 2008: The Welcome ministry team meets in Comfort Hall, or Wheeler House if double-booked. Publicity, hospitality, and communications are coordinated. 9:00am - 11:00am, Business Meeting; Forty Verse Three , our praise band, rehearses in the loft. 10:00am - 11:00am, Committee/Program
Sunday, November 2, 2008: Holy Eucharist according to Rite I in the Book of Common Prayer, a traditional (Elizabethan-era language) form. There is usually organ accompaniment for the hymns and service music, but no choir. The nursery is usually NOT available for this service. 8:00am - 9:00am, Worship; Pancake Breakfast , hosted by the Men's Club in Comfort Hall. All the pancakes you care to eat, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit kabobs, grits with butter and/or shredded cheese, orange juice, and coffee for just $5.00 per person. Proceeds support sending our youth to Camp Hardtner, the annual Parish Picnic, and other Men's club sponsored events. 8:45am - 10:15am, Fellowship; The Nursery is open for programs between the services and the 10:30 service. 9:00am - 12:00pm, Youth/Children; The Choir Practices most Sundays at this time in the Sanctuary. On Second Sundays, the Celebration Band practices. 9:15am - 10:15am, Committee/Program; Christian Formation for all ages. 9:15am - 10:15am, Formation/Bible Study; Altar Guild Installation , during the 10:30 Eucharist. There will also be a meeting with Fr. Ernie following the 10:30 service to review and modify the altar guild procedures. 10:30am, Committee/Program; Holy Eucharist using Rite II in the Book of Common Prayer. This is a modern language service. Except on the second Sunday of each month (when we do contemorary music) and other special occasions, such as baptism, Children ages 3 to 10 are invited to go to Children's Worship following the greetings. Saturday, November 8, 2008: Forty Verse Three , our praise band, rehearses in the loft. 10:00am - 11:00am, Committee/Program; The Episcopal Church Women meet in Comfort Hall for a business meeting followed by a potluck luncheon. 11:00am - 1:00pm, Committee/Program; Prime Rib Dinner , hosted by the Men's Club. Hors d'oeuvres begins at 6:00 and dinner seating begins at 6:30. $25 per person includes hand-passed appetizer selections; seasonal greens with tomatoes, croutons, and vinaigrette dressing; roast prime rib au jus ; broiled new potatoes with butter and parsley; crescent city creamed spinach casserole; dinner roll; warm bread pudding with cane run sauce; and tea, water or soft drinks. Wine is available at $2 a glass, beer at $1 per can. Free child care includes chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, salad, cookie and a movie.
