Literacy Assistance

Literacy outreach works withSt.Tammany Literacy Assistance. STLA is an organizatin that trains tutors to help adults who want to learn to read, children who need extra help in learning to read and foreign-born newcomers who need to master English as a second language.
Tutor training is free and takes approximately twelve hours. Any church member 15 years of age or older who can read can be trained as a tutor. No special educational background is needed.
Literacy outreach is always open to new ideas and programs. Our ministry is to serve the community in any area that promotes literacy.
