Literacy Assistance. STLA is an
organizatin that trains tutors to help adults who want to learn to
read, children who need extra help in learning to read and
foreign-born newcomers who need to master English as a second
language.
Tutor training is free and takes approximately twelve hours. Any
church member 15 years of age or older who can read can be trained
as a tutor. No special educational background is needed.
Literacy outreach is always open to new ideas and programs. Our
ministry is to serve the community in any area that promotes
literacy.
