Eucharistic Ministers
- Rector, Coordinator
Eucharist Ministers, both lay and ordained, assist in the Liturgy by
administering the chalice at the Communion. Lay Eucharistic
Ministers are specifically called to this office by the Vestry, and
licensed by the Bishop to serve under the supervision of the Rector.
A candidate for LEM
must be known to be faithful to the church by their
commitment, attendance, devotion, and stewardship.
Eucharistic Ministers also play a major role in the pastoral care of
the parish. They visit those who are sick or otherwise incapable of
getting out to church, bringing both the sacramental Communion and
the often just-as-important parish family communion. They also
maintain a confidential list of those in special trouble or need,
and pray for them regularly.
