Baptism
Those desiring Baptism for themselves or a family member shall fill
out an Application for Baptism, available from the church office.
The Rector or a Baptism liason schedules a time for a private
meeting with the person or family to go over the service, church
protocol, and answer questions. In the case of adult (or
confirmation age) Baptism, the Baptism is usually preceded by a
Catechumenal process, such as the Wednesday evening Growing in Grace
program.
There are four regularly scheduled dates set aside for Baptisms
during the church year: Epiphany, Easter Eve, Pentecost, and All
Saints Sunday. These are 'moveable feasts', as the actual
dates change from year to year. Baptisms outside of these dates may
be granted on a case-by-case basis by the rector, in accordance with
the liturgical calendar and other considerations. Every effort is
made to accomodate individual needs when selecting a date for
Baptism.
